Each year as part of its Fall Festival, the Zionsville Lions Club hosts a free “VIP Carnival” for kids of all ages who have special needs, their families and caregivers. I know how challenging it is to find activities for children with special needs and this is a wonderful opportunity for people with disabilities to enjoy rides, food and games in a supportive, accepting and inclusive environment. I have gone several times and highly recommend it. It’s so nice to see the outpouring of support shown by the community—and even better to see the smiling faces on the kids. This year’s event will be held Friday, September 8, 2017, from 5:00-8:00 PM in Lions Park in Zionsville.
