Recently, the IRS has published and issued what is being called the Taxpayer Bill of Rights. Much like the Bill of Rights in the United States Constitution, it contains 10 items, each aimed at solving common frustrations with the Internal Revenue Service. Many feel that the IRS operates by keeping us in great confusion and unanswered questions related to our taxes, and that the federal bureau is so powerful that nothing can be done about it on our end. Finally, the IRS seems to have made significant efforts to rethink their dealings with us citizens.
From the right to be informed to the right to a fair and just tax system, the new Taxpayer Bill of Rights can be read here.
